On foot downtown: several are close together on Laugavegur. There's the Red Cross shop at Laugavegur 12, Verzlanahöllin on the second floor of Laugavegur 26, and further up the street the Red Cross shop by Hlemmur at Laugavegur 116, next to ABC Barnahjálp at no. 118. Kolaportið flea market by the old harbour is open at weekends.

Worth the trip: Góði hirðirinn at Köllunarklettsvegur 1 is a big thrift store run by SORPA, with furniture, lamps, tableware, books and records. Barnaloppan, for children's things, is next door.
